Tender scanner for Canada: find government tenders without the daily search

A tender scanner checks public procurement portals for you and surfaces only the notices that match what your business sells. Veillea, built in Montréal, is a bilingual tender scanner for Canada: it reads SEAO, CanadaBuys and other government sources every day, filters notices by your keywords, sectors and regions, and emails you the ones worth a look, in English or French.

What a tender scanner actually does

Public buyers in Canada don't publish in one place. Québec public bodies and municipalities post on SEAO, federal departments on CanadaBuys, Saskatchewan on SaskTenders, and some cities run their own portals. Each site has its own search, its own categories and its own notification settings.

A government tender scanner sits on top of those portals and does three jobs:

  1. Collects new notices from several sources on a schedule.
  2. Matches them against a profile you define: keywords, categories, regions.
  3. Alerts you, so you open one email instead of five websites.

It doesn't replace the official portal. You still download documents and submit your bid where the buyer requires it. The scanner's job is to make sure you see the opportunity in time to decide.

How Veillea scans tenders

Keyword filters in English and French

Notices from Québec are mostly in French; federal notices come in both languages. Add terms in both (for example "snow removal" and "déneigement") and Veillea matches either. You can run several profiles for different lines of business.

Sector and region filters

Narrow by category (UNSPSC/GSIN) and by the regions you actually serve, so a Gatineau contractor isn't flooded with Saguenay paving jobs. Browse examples by sector or by region.

Daily email alerts

Paid plans send matching notices by email every day, ranked by relevance, with an English/French summary of scope, buyer and deadline, so you can triage in minutes and only open the full notice when it's a fit.

Sources Veillea scans

Veillea currently scans 14 live sources. In Canada:

Veillea also covers ten US sources, including SAM.gov and several state and city portals.

Veillea does not scan MERX. If MERX-only opportunities are important to you, see our MERX comparison.

Who a bid scanner is for

If you bid only once or twice a year on a single portal, the free plan or the portal's own alerts may be enough. A bid scanner pays off when you watch several sources or several sectors.

Tender scanner vs. manual searching

Manual searching Veillea tender scanner
Portals to check Each one, separately One email
Keywords Re-typed on every site Saved profiles, EN + FR
French notices Read in full EN/FR summary (paid plans)
Risk of missing a notice Depends on your routine Scanned daily
Cost Your time From $0

Manual searching works, and it's free. The cost is consistency: a missed week can mean a missed contract.

Tender scanner vs. other tender finder tools

Other tender finder services exist in Canada, each with a different focus: some center on document access and e-bidding, some on specific provinces, some charge per notice. Veillea's focus is Québec-first monitoring with bilingual summaries and flat pricing. For side-by-side comparisons, see:
